In a modern IT department, a backup is a copy of data (files, databases, configurations, etc.) that is stored in a place so it can be used to restore data easily after a loss. That loss could be a data breach, data deletion, corruption, device failures, or even a ransomware attack. Backups are part of a disaster recovery process. This reading assignment will explore full, incremental, and differential backups. It will also explore configuration and file backups. This lab focuses on configuration and file backups.
